Abstract


Identifying the Computer Literacy Skill Levels of Vocational Schools Students: The Case of Akdeniz University

The number of vocational schools in Turkish higher education system has been in rise. This growth brings creates various setbacks that are waiting to be solved. In particular, poor quality of education and training provided by vocational schools, which supply semi-skilled workers for small and medium sized enterprises, has been started to criticize. Becauce of the qualities of individuals that societies need have changed in our day. It is no longer a privilege but a necessity for today’s individuals to use the existing technologies to handle the information available, which is continuously changing and improving due to technology. Individuals in such an environment need to be able to know how to access information, can use it to suit their needs and produce new information. Aim of this study is to determine the computer literacy levels of undergraduate students Economics and Administrative Programs in the field of education. For this purpose, research was carried out on undergraduate students that studying at Akdeniz University Vocational Schools Elmalı In Economics and Administrative Programs. In this study, the computer literacy levels of their Economics and Administrative Programs students of vocational schools have been investigated with face-to-face interview. Hypotheses have been tested using SPSS 18 program and the results have been discussed accordingly.
